DIVYA SITARA

 

A dedicated academy teaching various syles of dance to people with a passion for the art, the concept itself has been the brainchild of DIVYA SITARA, the artistic director and Choreograher of Dance Off Dance and fitness studio.

 

Divya herself is a celebrated and accomplished dancer with nearly 26 years of experience in dancing and 16 years of experience in Choreography. An engineering and MBA graduate by education, Divya has always had the passion for dancing ever since she was 6 years of age. Since then she has only been trying to learn more through dance and has consistently come up with her own Dance Studio today. Trained in Bharatnatyam from Kalakshamraj for 10 years and also after training under a renowned dance company here in Chennai for 6 years and being the lead dancer, she has come a long way where she now stands as the Artistic Director of her own Dance academy which was indeed her dream.

 

She is well versed in choreographing and performing styles like Classical, Semi classical, Indian contemporary, Modern dance, freestyle, Hip hop, Indian folk forms, Bollywood Dancing, Cinematic performances and much more. She has performed in over 700 shows till date including reality shows like Vijay Tv's Jodi No1, Ungalil yaar adutha Prabhu Deva, Super singer (senior and junior), Boys vs girls, Karthiyudan oru siruthai pongal, junior superstars, Anna University's Techofes, Ac Tech's Kalakrithi, IIT's Saarang, Women's Day tribute by chennaionline.com and many other corporate shows, medical conferences, product launches, fashion shows and more. She has performed with various celebrities like Ragasiya, Rukmini, singers Baba Sehgal, Chinmayee, Benny Dayal, Suvi Suresh,  Ranina Reddy, Suchithra and small screen celebrities. She has been the official choreographer for various colleges and schools. She is well known for having trained and choreographed more than 1500 students at once for school events every year and has vast experience in designing concepts, set, costumes and props for a full fledged dance show. She has worked as an assistant choreographer for the tamil movie 'Pyaar Prema Kaadhal', assisted two commercials and choreographed two commercials.

She has trained more than 200 students since the inception of Dance Off in 2011.
